The Level Collective work with ethical makers and designers from across the world to create adventure-inspired apparel including beanie hats, graphic t-shirts and sweaters.
I started The Level Collective back in January 2014 after returning from my travels volunteering with a charity in Romania who provide practical and sustainable support to Roma-gypsy communities.
I was inspired to create positive change through starting a clothing brand that is fair to everyone involved, and that also reflects my passion for the outdoors.
The team in Romania have trained people in the communities how to hand-crochet our chunky-knit beanie hats which helps to provide sustainable income for families living in truly difficult circumstances.
I collaborate with illustrators, typographers and designers to create our adventure inspired designs from pencil-sketch through to being hand screen printed in Sheffield, using water-based inks onto our ethically-made bamboo / organic cotton blend t-shirts and organic cotton sweaters.
The Level Collective has grown organically through a creative community of people across the world who share our heartbeat for adventure, original design, and ethical values – with over 47,000 followers on Instagram.
The Level Collective is a side-project project that I started in my lunch breaks and has grown to become something that I now work on two days per week. I am constantly learning and my creativtity is constantly being stretched and challenged.
Through this project I have gained a breadth of invaluable experience in the following areas:
Website design – UX / UI / Service
Social media marketing
Collaboration with designers & photographers
